Our Liferaft Services
Annual Inspection
A complete visual and functional inspection of your liferaft including canopy, tubes, inflation system, and all packed equipment. Includes a working pressure test — we measure pressure loss over one hour, adjusted for barometric pressure and temperature, to verify there are no leaks. Ensures your raft meets current USCG and /or SOLAS requirements.
3-Year Service
Service performed on specific types of Leisure liferafts. Similar to the annual test, it is a full unpack, inspection, equipment replenishment, and repacking. All expired pyrotechnics, water rations, and dated items are replaced to manufacturer specifications. Includes a working pressure test.
5-Year Service
Includes everything in the Annual service, plus a complete gas system test to verify proper operation. We rebuild or replace all gas system components, including the operating head, hoses, and inlet checks, and perform a hydro test on the CO₂ cylinder for DOT compliance.
Brands We Service
We are an authorized dealer and service station for all major liferaft brands. If you don’t see your brand listed, call us — we likely service it.
- Revere Survival
- Survitec — all brands including RFD, Zodiac (SurvitecZodiac), DSB, Elliot, and Crewsaver
- Switlik
- Lalizas
- Fujikura
Tests We Perform
Every liferaft we service is subject to rigorous testing. Depending on the age of the raft and findings during inspection, the following tests may be performed:
- Working pressure test — performed at every service interval. We measure pressure loss over one hour, adjusted for barometric pressure and temperature change, to test for leaks in the buoyancy tubes.
- 5-year gas system test — performed every 5 years. We test the entire gas system, then rebuild or replace the operating head, hoses, and inlet checks. A hydro test is performed on the CO₂ cylinder for DOT compliance.
- NAP (Necessary Additional Pressure) test — required at 10 years of age or sooner if deemed necessary by our technician. Required by the USCG, SOLAS, and the manufacturer.
- Floor seam test — performed alongside the NAP test. Floor seams are pressure-tested to confirm they are watertight and structurally sound. Required by the USCG, SOLAS, and the manufacturer.

Frequently Asked Questions
How often does a liferaft need to be serviced?
Most recreational liferafts require an annual inspection and a more comprehensive service every 3 years. Some manufacturers allow a 5-year service interval for gas inflation systems. Check your raft’s label or owner’s manual for the specific requirements.
How long does a liferaft service take?
Most services are completed within a few business days. Call us at (503) 243-2258 if you have a hard deadline — we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
Do I need an appointment?
We accept drop-ins, but we recommend scheduling ahead so we can have the right parts and technician ready for your specific raft.
What happens if my liferaft fails inspection?
We’ll walk you through the options — whether that’s repair, parts replacement, or, if necessary, replacement with a new raft. We carry the full Revere lineup in stock and can often get you back on the water the same week.
Do you service commercial vessel liferafts?
Yes. Contact us at John@pacificmarinedist.com or call (503) 243-2258 to discuss your commercial vessel requirements.
